IT Project Coordinator
State Government Contract Opportunity Our State Government client is seeking an experienced IT Project Coordinator to support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of technology and digital transformation initiatives. Working within a collaborative project environment, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are effectively planned, coordinated, governed, and delivered.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised professional with strong stakeholder management skills and experience supporting IT projects in a complex enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide project coordination support across multiple IT and digital initiatives.
- Maintain project schedules, RAID logs, action registers, and project documentation.
- Coordinate project meetings, workshops, and governance forums, including preparation of agendas, minutes, and actions.
- Support the development of project plans, status reports, presentations, and other governance artefacts.
- Monitor project milestones, deliverables, and dependencies to ensure timely project outcomes.
- Assist with project budgeting, resource tracking, procurement activities, and vendor coordination.
- Support stakeholder communication, change management, and project reporting activities.
- Ensure compliance with project management methodologies, governance frameworks, and organisational standards.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with business, technical, and external stakeholders.
Key Requirements
- Demonstrated experience as a Project Coordinator, Project Support Officer, or PMO Coordinator within an IT environment.
- Experience supporting technology, infrastructure, applications, cloud, cybersecurity, or digital transformation projects.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, PRINCE2, or Hybrid delivery approaches.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with proven stakeholder engagement experience.
- Experience preparing project documentation, reports, meeting minutes, and governance artefacts.
- Advanced proficiency across Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Desirable
- Previous experience working within a State or Federal Government environment.
- Exposure to PMO functions, portfolio reporting, or project governance frameworks.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or project management certifications (PRINCE2, Agile, PMP, CAPM or equivalent).
