Project Manager - Utilities - Retail Transformation
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join a rapidly growing utilities provider embarking on a business-critical retail transformation program.
The Organisation
Part of a broader energy group, this organisation is investing heavily in its technology and customer operations capabilities to support continued growth and improve service delivery. As part of this journey, the business is undertaking a major transformation of its core retail billing platform and is seeking a Project Manager to play a key role in the successful delivery of this initiative.
The Opportunity
Reporting into the Head of Technology & Transformation, you will be responsible for coordinating the end-to-end delivery of the core billing system implementation. The organisation is currently progressing through a vendor selection process, providing a unique opportunity to be involved from implementation planning through to go-live and business adoption.
You will act as the key liaison between the business, vendor and implementation partner, ensuring strong stakeholder alignment, effective governance and successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the delivery of a large-scale retail systems transformation program
- Manage relationships with the selected software vendor and implementation partner
- Coordinate business stakeholders and subject matter experts across multiple functions
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, risks and dependencies
- Drive governance, reporting and steering committee engagement
- Ensure project deliverables are achieved on time and within scope
- Support business readiness, transition and implementation activities
- Facilitate collaboration between technology, operations and business teams
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Must have experience working in utility organisations
- Demonstrated experience coordinating business or technology transformation programs
- Proven track record managing third-party vendors and implementation partners
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
- Experience working across multiple business functions and senior leadership teams
- Excellent project governance, planning and delivery capabilities
- The ability to navigate ambiguity and drive outcomes in a fast-paced environment
- Experience within utilities, energy, retail, customer operations or billing system transformations will be highly regarded
