Project Manager - Portfolio Management Improvement
A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to lead Portfolio Management Improvement initiatives within a major Queensland Government division. Supporting a significant business transformation program, you will drive governance, assurance, and project lifecycle improvements across a substantial infrastructure portfolio.

What you'll do
- Lead the Portfolio Management Improvement stream and deliver key project outcomes.
- Manage integrated schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, and priorities.
- Drive stakeholder engagement across business units, project teams, and executives.
- Develop and implement frameworks for project lifecycle management, governance, assurance, and portfolio prioritisation.
- Deliver business transformation and change initiatives from planning through to implementation.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams and provide guidance throughout project delivery.
- Monitor risks, issues, dependencies, and change impacts, ensuring timely escalation where required.
- Prepare project documentation, governance artefacts, reports, and executive updates.
- Support project governance, assurance, and reporting requirements.
What you bring
- Proven experience managing complex projects within multi-stakeholder environments.
- Strong project management skills across scheduling, governance, risk, and delivery.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and relationship management capabilities.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving accountability for outcomes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Experience delivering business change or transformation projects.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies such as PRINCE2 or Agile.
- Proficiency with Microsoft project management and collaboration tools.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in project management, engineering, construction, or a related field.
- Infrastructure, asset management, or government experience will be highly regarded.
