IT Project Manager
* Education sector, CBD location, Hybrid working * 12 month initial day rate contract * $1,100-1,200 per day
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead a major technology expansion program for a leading education provider.
This greenfield initiative will support the launch of operations in New Zealand, replicating and scaling established Australian technology platforms, processes and services. Working across infrastructure, cloud, applications, data and security, you will be responsible for driving delivery from planning through to go-live.
Reporting into senior technology leadership, you'll be the key point of contact for stakeholders across the business, providing clear communication, strong governance and confidence that critical milestones will be achieved. With a firm launch deadline in place, this role requires a pragmatic delivery mindset and a focus on getting an MVP into market.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of a large-scale technology expansion program.
- Develop and manage project plans, budgets, timelines, risks and dependencies.
- Coordinate multiple technical workstreams across infrastructure, cloud, applications, integrations and security.
- Drive stakeholder engagement across executive leadership, business teams, vendors and technical SMEs.
- Facilitate governance forums, steering committees and executive reporting.
- Manage testing, deployment, operational readiness and transition to support.
- Ensure delivery aligns with security, compliance and business requirements.
About You
- Proven experience delivering complex IT transformation, migration or implementation projects.
- Strong technical understanding across cloud, infrastructure, applications and enterprise systems.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience reporting to executives or boards.
- Ability to influence outcomes and drive delivery across teams.
- Strong risk, issue and vendor management capability.
- Experience in education or highly regulated environments is highly desirable.
- Exposure to LMS, CRM, student management systems or digital platforms will be viewed favourably.
- PMP, PRINCE2, Agile or similar project management certifications are advantageous.
If you are an experienced IT Project Manager with a strong technical background, exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and a track record of delivering complex transformation programs, we'd love to hear from you.
