Tech Lead - Java, Kotlin, GCP

We're seeking a Senior Engineer/Tech Lead to help build a new creative publishing and approval platform from the ground up. Working with Kotlin/Java, GCP and modern DevOps practices, you'll develop workflow-driven solutions, integrate with workflow management tooling, and help shape the architecture, engineering standards and delivery approach for a high-profile greenfield initiative.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services using Kotlin and Java.
• Build workflow-driven applications and integrations supporting creative publishing and approval processes.
• Develop and enhance cloud-native solutions running on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Integrate with workflow management tools and other third-party applications.
• Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Contribute to platform architecture, technical design and engineering standards.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, delivery and business stakeholders.
• Support infrastructure automation and deployment activities.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior team members.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Strong commercial software engineering experience with Kotlin and/or Java.
• Experience developing scalable backend services and APIs.
• Experience with cloud platforms, ideally GCP, or alternatively AWS or Azure.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with GitHub Actions and deployment automation.
• Strong problem-solving, design and integration skills.
• Experience working within Agile delivery teams.
• Hands-on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience.

Nice to Have:

• Terraform or Infrastructure as Code experience.
• Exposure to workflow orchestration platforms such as Temporal.io.
• Experience designing workflow-based systems and business process automation solutions.
• TypeScript knowledge.
• Front-end development exposure.
• Experience integrating enterprise SaaS platforms and external systems.
