Belinda's career story as ANZ Commercial & Operations Director at Robert Walters has been shaped by challenge, growth, and a passion for people.
I’ve always been someone who thrives in fast-paced environments. Before joining Robert Walters, I worked in aviation—both rotary and commercial fixed-wing operations. It was a high-pressure industry that demanded quick thinking, adaptability, and the need to prioritise effectively. These skills became the foundation of how I operate today.
Eleven years ago, I made the leap into recruitment. Life circumstances had changed, and I was looking for a new challenge where I could apply everything I had learned in a different setting. I was drawn to recruitment because of its dynamic nature and focus on customer experience. The decision proved to be one of the best I’ve ever made.
I thrive in fast-paced environments, love working hard, and have a strong drive to succeed, so recruitment felt like a natural fit.
My career progression at Robert Walters has been an ongoing journey of growth. Over the years, I’ve stepped into different roles that have shaped my understanding of the business and helped me build the skills I need for my current position. Each new challenge has been an opportunity to learn, evolve, and contribute in new ways.
One of the biggest influences on my growth has been the people I work with. I’ve been fortunate to have incredible mentors and colleagues who have encouraged me to think outside the box, challenge the status quo, and bring even the boldest ideas to the table. The culture here is centred around innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement—values that resonate deeply with me.
The team culture at Robert Walters is incredible. We all want to see each other succeed, and that is reflected in the way we support each other but also in the way we challenge each other.
Beyond the work itself, what truly sets Robert Walters apart is its people. The team is filled with driven, passionate individuals who genuinely care about the success of those around them. There’s a shared commitment to excellence, and that energy is both motivating and inspiring.
Balancing work and life has been an ongoing journey, especially with a young family. I’m a proud mum of two, and family has always been at the centre of my world. While I wouldn’t say I’ve mastered work-life balance, I’ve learned the importance of setting clear priorities. Knowing when to give my all at work and when to fully switch off at home has been key. The flexibility and support at Robert Walters have made that possible.
Having a supportive team and a flexible environment makes a huge difference in finding that balance.
My advice is if you’re ambitious and ready to push yourself, your career will thrive at Robert Walters. Hard work is recognised, and there are so many opportunities for growth. Show up every day with drive, curiosity, and a willingness to challenge yourself—you won’t regret it.
